Description

  • Quality & Characteristics: Sesame seeds have an off-white color but turn brown when roasted.
    The black sesame seeds have a richer flavor and stronger aroma. The seeds are about 3 to 4 mm long by 2 mm wide and 1 mm thick. The seeds are ovate, slightly flattened, and somewhat thinner at the eye of the seed (hilum) than at the opposite end.
  • Varieties: TKG-306, TKG-308, SWB-32-10-1 (Savitri), Jawahar Til –12 (PKDS-12), Jawahar Til –14 (PKDS-8), Gujarat Til-3, Gujarat til-4, RT-346, PKV-NT-11, DSS-9, JLT-408, RT-351, Shubra, Smarak.
